Commentary

2 Chronicles 27 is a chapter that focuses on the reign of King Jotham of Judah. Jotham was the son of King Uzziah and reigned for 16 years. During his reign, he followed the Lord and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He removed the high places and destroyed the idols that his father had set up. He also repaired the gates of the temple and built towers on the wall of Jerusalem. Jotham was a successful king and was able to defeat the Ammonites and bring tribute to Jerusalem. He also made sure that the people of Judah kept the laws of the Lord and did not turn away from Him. He was a good king and was blessed by the Lord. The chapter ends with a summary of Jotham's reign and his death. He was buried in the City of David and his son Ahaz succeeded him as king. This chapter is a reminder of the importance of following the Lord and doing what is right in His eyes. It also shows us the blessings that come from being faithful to God. Jotham was a successful king and was blessed by the Lord for his faithfulness. We can learn from his example and strive to be faithful to God in our own lives.
